1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to television repair, TV installation and DStv services provided by Budget TV Repairs to you, the customer. By booking a service, you accept them.

2. Quotes and pricing

We charge a diagnostic assessment fee to establish the fault. This is payable whether or not you proceed with the repair. If you do proceed, the assessment fee is taken into account in the final repair price.

After diagnosis we provide a fixed written quote. No work beyond the diagnosis is carried out until you approve that quote. Nothing is added to the price afterwards without your express agreement.

3. What we do not repair

We do not repair cracked, shattered or otherwise physically damaged television screens or panels. On a modern flat-screen television, a replacement panel typically costs more than a new television of the same size, and we therefore do not offer this service under any circumstances.

We do not purchase broken televisions, and we do not accept them for parts, spares or scrap.

4. Workmanship

We warrant our workmanship and the components we supply for the period stated on your job card or invoice. This warranty covers the specific repair we performed. It does not cover new or unrelated faults, subsequent damage, power surges, physical damage, liquid damage, or faults arising from work carried out by anybody else.

5. Parts

Where a part must be ordered, we will tell you the part, the cost and the expected lead time before you commit. Lead times for parts are estimates given in good faith and are not guaranteed, as they depend on suppliers.

6. Access and safety

You are responsible for providing safe, reasonable access to the television or installation site, including any gate, estate or complex access arrangements. Where safe access cannot be provided, we may be unable to proceed and a callout charge may still apply.

7. Beyond economical repair

If, on inspection, we determine that a television is beyond economical repair, we will tell you so and explain why. In that event only the diagnostic assessment fee is payable.

8. Liability

We carry out work with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for pre-existing faults, for latent defects, for damage arising from the condition of the equipment before we attended, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act.

9. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Cancellation

Please give us as much notice as you reasonably can if you need to cancel or reschedule. Where a technician has already been dispatched, a callout charge may apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
