Skyworth is a large manufacturer with a substantial South African presence, and it produces perfectly reasonable televisions. Where it becomes awkward is in the aftermarket: replacement mainboards for specific Skyworth models are frequently unavailable locally, and importing one can cost more than the television is worth and take weeks.
This is precisely the situation in which component-level repair stops being merely the cheaper option and becomes the only option. If the board cannot be replaced, it has to be repaired — the failed regulator, the cracked solder joint, the shorted protection diode identified and dealt with individually.
That is work we do routinely. It requires proper fault tracing rather than parts swapping, and it is exactly why we invest in diagnosis. On a Skyworth in particular, a repairer who can only swap boards will very often tell you the set is beyond help when it plainly is not.

Yes, and this is exactly where component-level repair earns its place. When a replacement mainboard is unobtainable or absurdly expensive to import, repairing the existing board — identifying and replacing the individual failed component — is frequently the only viable route. It is work we do routinely.
My Skyworth will not turn on.
Most likely the power supply board. It is the most common fault across every brand in South Africa, and Skyworth is no exception. Component-level repair is usually straightforward and inexpensive.
My Skyworth is stuck on the logo.

Is it worth repairing a Skyworth TV?
