When a Sony Bravia will not start, the standby light usually flashes in a repeating pattern — a number of flashes, then a pause, then the same number again. That is not the television being broken in a decorative way. It is a diagnostic blink code, and the number of flashes identifies the fault.
Two flashes generally points at a power supply problem. Six flashes commonly indicates a backlight fault. Others point at the mainboard, the panel drive or the T-CON. The exact meaning varies by model series, but the principle holds across the range, and it is genuinely useful.
So when you phone us about a Sony that will not start, the single most helpful thing you can do is count the flashes and tell us the number. It frequently lets us load the right parts before the technician even leaves — which is often the difference between a one-visit repair and a two-visit one.

Storage exhaustion on the Android platform. Sony sets are not immune, and clearing it properly makes a substantial difference.

Is a Sony Bravia worth repairing?
Generally yes. Sony builds well and its panels tend to outlast its power boards comfortably. A power supply or backlight repair costs a small fraction of replacing the set, and a good Bravia has plenty of life left in it.
Are Sony parts available in South Africa?
For the common failures — power board components, backlight strips, capacitors — yes. Model-specific mainboards for older Bravias can be harder to source, which is where component-level repair matters.
Do you repair Sony OLED televisions?
Yes. The boards are repairable in the usual way. Burn-in on the OLED panel is not repairable, by us or anyone, and we will tell you honestly if that is what you are looking at.
